Extended School 2013-2014 Program

The Extended School Program is designed to provide children in Kindergarten – 5th Grade with supervised recreational activities in a safe environment before school, after school, and on most days when school is not in session. The program is held at the Recreation Complex for participants in Kindergarten-2nd grades, and Westview Elementary School for 3rd-5th graders. Participants in Kindergarten -2nd grades will be bussed to Oakbrook school in the morning and bussed to the Recreation Complex in the afternoon. Bussing is provided by School District #7. Participants are required to live within School District #7 boundaries in order to register for the Extended School program.

Registration

Registration packets for Extended School are available for pick up at the Recreation Complex. Mail-in or drop-off registration will not be permitted. Registration must be done in-person by an adult. A parent guide with additional information will be distributed to parents at the time of registration. An additional $15.00 non-refundable registration fee and a full month’s payment to hold your child’s spot in each program will be due at the time of registration. The initial payment will be applied toward your final month in May 2013.

Refunds

Parents requesting a refund will be expected to fill out a refund request form in person. Refunds will be prorated based on the date the refund form was completed. A $2 service fee per child will apply to all refunds. Fees will not be prorated for absences from the Extended School Program.

Payment Plan

A monthly payment plan is offered to assist parents with the financial responsibilities of the Extended School Program. To keep the monthly payments consistent, the total program fee is spread out evenly over 10 payments. The payments are due on or before the 15th of each month. Payment Dates are: August 15th, September 15th, October 15th, November 15th, December 15th, January 15th, February 15th, March 15th and April 15th. Payments received after the 15th of the month will be charged a $15 late fee per child. Payments not received by the 29th day of the month, will result in your child being dropped from the program.

Before School Bunch

A variety of activities are planned in the morning, which include: arts n’ crafts, active games, movies and special events.

Kindergarten Club

Kindergarten Club is for participants who have A.M. Kindergarten at Oakbrook School. Space is limited, so parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Full refunds will be given to participants who are assigned P.M. Kindergarten. Kindergartners will enjoy a variety of activities ranging from creative craft projects to active games. Participants are required to bring a lunch each day.

After School Bunch

Children enrolled in this program will participate in a variety of activities which include: arts n’ crafts, games, movies, special events and more. Each day, time will be set aside for homework. A snack will be provided in the afternoon.

School Days Off, Winter Camp and Spring Camp

We offer a program for the half and full days off of school. Activities will include games, crafts, free play, trips and more. Children should bring a sack lunch and a drink. The registration deadline for each of the programs is usually one week prior to the program date. Registration for School Days Off, Winter Camp and Spring Camp will begin in August. The Fall brochure will contain more details. The School Days Off program is available to students in Kindergarten-5th grades.
